Sonesta partners with Viator to expand loyalty benefits

US: Hospitality company Sonesta International Hotels Corporation has partnered with tours and activities booking platform Viator to allow members of its Sonesta Travel Pass loyalty programme to earn points when booking tours, activities and excursions. 

The agreement gives Travel Pass members access to Viator’s catalogue of more than 400,000 global experiences, ranging from guided cultural tours to adventure activities. Members will receive five points for every $1 spent, while a limited-time promotion offers an additional 10 per cent off bookings made with the code SONESTA10 through to 31 December 2025.

Elizabeth Harlow, chief brand officer at Sonesta, said: “Sonesta Travel Pass has always delivered exceptional value with competitive point redemption rates and easily accessible tier advancement. By partnering with Viator, we’re extending the Sonesta Travel Pass member experience outside the hotel room to include the rest of their trip.”

Points earned through Viator bookings can be redeemed across Sonesta’s 13 brands, which span the upper-upscale, lifestyle, midscale, extended stay and economy segments. Members can also access perks including complimentary upgrades, bonus point multipliers and welcome gifts.

Sarah Dines, chief commercial officer at Viator, said: “We’re excited to partner with Sonesta to give their Travel Pass members access to Viator’s collection of global tours, activities and excursions, from authentic local experiences to skip-the-line access at world-famous attractions and once-in-a-lifetime adventures.”
