UK: Amsterdam-based boutique hotel group Sir Hotels has opened Sir Devonshire Square, its first hotel in London.
The 81-bed property is housed in a 17th Century textile warehouse and includes 14 suites.
The Bauhaus-inspired midcentury interiors have been designed by the architecture and interior design studio Maison 191, led by designer Samuel Wright.
The hotel has opened with an all-day dining concept, available to both hotel guests and the public, which serves contemporary dishes as well as a cocktail and wine menu.
In-room coffee is offered by Sir’s exclusive partner East London’s AllPress.The hotel will play host to a monthly programme of events, from DJ sessions and live music nights to art talks and design panels.
The walls in the lounge and lobby area showcases the work of emerging London artists and photographers and will be refreshed every six months, in a rotating exhibit.
The Cover, Sircle Collection’s private members’ club, and the main restaurant are set to follow at a later date.
The hotel is also finalising plans for an in-house gym. In the meantime a local fitness partner will provide complimentary access for hotel guests.
