Outrigger Hospitality Group has appointed Karen Kurosawa, director, environmental, social and governance (ESG).
She joins the company from CDP Reporter Services in New York, where she served as an accounts manager advising Fortune 500 companies on environmental disclosure, emissions verification and alignment with leading frameworks including TCFD, GHG Protocol and SBTi.
“ESG is not a side initiative at Outrigger—it’s central to who we are as a brand and how we operate across the globe,” said Monica Salter, VP, global communications & social responsibility. “Karen’s proven expertise in ESG reporting and data analysis will sharpen our ability to measure progress and accelerate initiatives that protect our oceans, support our hosts and communities, while creating long-term value.”
In her new role, Kurosawa will oversee the collection, analysis and reporting of environmental data across the company’s global portfolio, advancing its sustainability goals. She will drive green initiatives and contribute to broader social and governance priorities that enhance the positive impact of its ESG platform.
Central to these efforts is Outrigger Zone—the company’s global conservation initiative that engages guests, hosts and communities in protecting the health of the oceans and coral reefs. She will play a vital role in advancing its impact, expanding educational programming and strengthening partnerships with organizations dedicated to preserving marine ecosystems, according to the company.
