Japan: Hospitality company Aman Group has launched the first property under Janu, sister brand to Aman, in the Azabudai Hills development in Tokyo.
Aman first revealed its Janu brand in March 2020, which has been designed to encourage connection.
The first Janu property is located in the Azabudai Hills neighbourhood of Tokyo, created and managed by Japanese developer Mori Building Co.
It offers 122 guest rooms and suites, eight F&B venues, and a spa and wellness centre. Architects Pelli Clarke & Partners worked on the project with interiors led by Jean Michel Gathy of Denniston.
Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO at Aman Group, said: “The opening of Janu Tokyo solidifies Aman Group’s status as the unrivalled emblem of ultra-luxury hospitality. Aman has always epitomised luxury hospitality, with devoted guests at its heart, who repeatedly journey through our constellation of hotels and resorts. Now, as we introduce Janu Tokyo, we are heralding a new era.
“The strategic decision to launch Janu reflects our commitment to evolving alongside the desires of today’s dynamic travellers, particularly the offspring of Aman loyalists, the rising Amanjunkies, who seek uplifting experiences and authentic human connections. Janu Tokyo promises to be the epicentre of this transformative movement, welcoming a new cohort of guests,” he said.
The opening marks the first in a 12-strong pipeline for the Janu brand. Upcoming locations, according to the website, include Turks & Caicos, the Maldives, South Korea, Thailand, Montenegro, Portugal, Turkey, Alula, Diriyah and Dubai.
