US: The 502-room hotel Waldorf Astoria Orlando is set to undergo a multi-phase renovation beginning this month, with the completed project to debut in December 2023.
The property-wide redesign will include all bedrooms and suites, the lobby space, select food and beverage venues, the spa, and the 18-hole golf course. It follows the recent renovation of the hotel’s meeting and event spaces last year.
To minimise disruption, the work will be carried out in stages beginning with the lobby (April-June). Peacock Alley, the lobby restaurant, will follow in June to August. The hotel’s main restaurant, Bull & Bear, will also be included in the plans.
Located adjacent to Peacock Alley, a brand new, multifunctional all-day space will be introduced. Waldorf Marketplace will serve coffee, baked goods, and chocolate.
Interior design firm Parker Torres Design will oversee the guest rooms and suites. New custom millwork, wet bars, stocked mini-bars, custom bathroom vanities and motion-activated night lights are set to be introduced. Furniture will also be updated.
Over in the spa, new Lemi Spa Dream tables will be added for couples treatments. A master plan for the golf course has been designed by architect Rees Jones which includes rebuilding all tees, widening the playing corridors, expanding green surfaces, and improving the bunkers. All restorations of the golf course are expected to be completed in January 2024.
General manager of the hotel, Ryan Fitzgerald, said: “We are delighted to announce our plans for the complete makeover of Waldorf Astoria Orlando. As a Waldorf Astoria hotel, our guests expect the best in luxury accommodations and world-class amenities, and we are committed to providing them with an exceptional experience that surpasses their expectations as soon as they walk through our doors.”
