Set to open in 2027, the hotel group’s new project will be faithful to its differentiating concept of hospitality, combining high-level accommodation with quality entertainment and becoming a cultural reference in the city.
Triple restoration
The signing of UMusic Hotel Teatro Reina Victoria means Pescaderías Coruñesas will manage a complex that will occupy about 10,000 sq m. The project will include the restoration of three historic buildings, the Reina Victoria Theatre, the Meneses Building and the Casa Allende, as part of UMusic Hotels’ commitment to recover historic buildings and return them to the city.
Located in one of the most prestigious areas of Madrid, Plaza de Canalejas, the hotel will include a complex with 70 rooms, an extensive culinary offering, a spa and fitness centre, a rooftop bar and the historic theatre with 600 seat capacity.
Ambitious project
Robert Lavia, CEO of UMusic Hotels, explained: “UMusic Hotel Teatro Reina Victoria is a very ambitious project that will convert three historic buildings, located in one of the most exclusive areas of the capital, into an establishment that combines a five-star luxury hotel and the popular Reina Victoria Theatre, allowing it to recover all its splendour.
“At UMusic Hotels, we are more than hotels, we celebrate spaces of creativity and entertainment, and this new project meets all the criteria we look for so that guests can have unique cultural experiences.”
Progressive expansion plan
Lavia also pointed out that the choice for Madrid is because: “It has become a European and world capital of entertainment and culture. Its rich cultural legacy, geographical location and philosophy of open doors, without prejudices of any kind, has led to the arrival of great names in hospitality.
“We have a progressive expansion plan with the main objective to bring our new concept of hospitality and entertainment to the main cities of the world, which will strengthen our presence in Europe, the United States and Latin America.”
The latest signing follows the opening of the brand’s first site, UMusic Hotel Madrid, towards the end of last year. This was another conversion project, that time of the historic Albéniz Theatre in the Spanish capital, resulting in a five star 130-room hotel.
