Placemakr, a flexible-use hospitality and multifamily operator, has launched its newest property in San Antonio, The Continental, powered by Placemakr.
Launching in partnership with Weston Urban, this property will be a part of the new Continental Block Development, transforming the historic Continental Hotel into 28 furnished apartment units for short-term hospitality stays. Guests can now book these apartment-style accommodations, with studio and one or two-bedroom units available for stays beginning this month.
The property is the first phase of Weston Urban’s 1.9-acre redevelopment project to open, which includes 290 mixed-income housing units and 22,000 sq. ft. of retail and commercial space. This project dovetails into the nearby University of Texas at San Antonio downtown campus expansion and recently completed San Pedro Creek restoration.
“Being a part of this restoration project with Weston Urban is exciting for us at Placemakr because it gives us the opportunity to bring an innovative concept into an iconic historic building,” said Jason Fudin, CEO/cofounder, Placemakr. “This launch is set to rejuvenate not just only the building itself, but the entire surrounding area, enabling guests and residents to get the most out of this super cool neighborhood in San Antonio.”
Randy Smith, CEO/cofounder, Weston Urban, added, “With The Continental we’re looking to restore something special to our community that will feel like a natural fit. We’re excited to partner with Placemakr to bring this historic building back to life and offer a unique style of flexible living in downtown San Antonio.
