Mews, a fast-growing hospitality cloud company, has acquired Atomize, a Swedish-based Revenue Management System (RMS) provider. This strategic acquisition expands Mews’ suite of solutions for hotels and other accommodation providers and strengthens its position in the competitive hospitality technology market.
Atomize, founded in 2016, offers an AI-powered RMS platform that optimizes hotel room pricing in real time. The platform analyzes market demand, booking patterns, competitor rates, and other data points to dynamically adjust room rates, maximizing revenue potential for hotels. Atomize’s capabilities include granular room-level pricing, multi-property and group pricing management, and a balance of automated pricing adjustments with the flexibility for hotelier intervention. The company serves hotels in over 50 countries.
This acquisition builds on a pre-existing partnership between Mews and Atomize, which began in 2018. The two companies have collaborated to provide integrated solutions for hundreds of customers, combining Mews’ property management system (PMS) with Atomize’s RMS. This acquisition allows Mews to offer a more comprehensive and integrated platform for its clients.
Richard Valtr, Founder of Mews, stated that real-time decision-making is crucial in the current hospitality environment and that Atomize’s technology will empower Mews customers with the data and insights they need to maximize revenue. Matt Welle, CEO of Mews, added that bringing Atomize’s technology and team into Mews is a significant step in the company’s ongoing efforts to transform the hospitality industry.
Leif Jägerbrand, Founder and Chairman of the Board at Atomize, expressed enthusiasm about joining Mews, noting the potential to provide hoteliers with a more comprehensive approach to managing revenue and operations. Alexander Edström, CEO of Atomize, added that the combined technologies of the two companies will create new opportunities for innovation and set new standards for operational intelligence and revenue optimization in the hospitality sector.
Chris Pedersen, CEO of Kronen Hotel Group in Norway, an Atomize customer, reported positive results from using the platform, citing a 35% increase in RevPAR and significant time savings.
This acquisition follows a recent $100 million financing round secured by Mews from Vista Credit Partners. This funding will support Mews’ continued growth and expansion, including its M&A strategy. Mews has already acquired nine hospitality technology companies through its Mews Ventures division. Mews currently serves over 5,500 hotels in 85 countries and has seen significant growth, particularly in North America. The company’s focus on automation, AI-driven solutions, and cloud-based technology positions it as a significant player in the evolving hospitality technology landscape.
