As we close out 2024 and look forward to 2025, we’re all curious about how the new year ahead will fare, what it will bring and how it, eventually, will be defined. As is the case for the last 25-plus years, December delivers to you our annual Green Book—something that is highly anticipated by our readers and beloved by the industry.
In addition to the ranked lists and company contact information, it features reports, based on interviews with industry executives, from brands to owners and developers, management companies to brokers, and architects and designers to purchasing companies. These reports are designed to provide a combination of hindsight and foresight—the proverbial “a look back, a look ahead”—to bring 2024 to an end and to begin planning with hope and optimism (sprinkled with reality) for 2025.
Just a note here to remind our readers: The information presented on all of these pages is based on survey submissions. We routinely send out notifications to fill out the forms on our website so that you will be included. If you are not included in this year’s Green Book and want to be part of future issues, please make sure to go to hotelbusiness.com and click on “Surveys” under the Resources tab. Filling out a form will grant you inclusion in our targeted surveys and issues throughout the year, which will culminate with the December Green Book.
These are the issues to keep on your radar to be part of our 2025 reports and charts:
March: Brokers report
April: Management company report
May: Construction report
June: Asset management report
August: Owners & developers report
September: Brands report and franchise fees update
October: Sources of funding report
What are some of the trends you think will take root in 2025? Opportunities to explore? Challenges to conquer? You’re boots on the ground, so we’d love to hear your thoughts and share them with our readers. As VP, content & partnerships, I have my eyes on: interiors that express personality through color, motif and artisanal elements; designs that speak to the digital nomad (think guestroom backgrounds for video calls, public spaces for Zoom); a continued emphasis on health & wellness, catering to mind and body; upskilling the workforce to create growth and retention within our companies; the rise in experiential travel, including “play travel” and “adventure travel;” immersive cultural experiences that include an outdoor economy; the power of personal storytelling and engagement; how AI can transform and evolve the hotel industry; and more.
Before we turn the page on this year, let me take this moment to express gratitude to all of our loyal readers and to our advertising partners. As you all know, especially in the hospitality industry, it’s all about relationships. We truly value the ones we have developed and strengthened with you throughout the years. And we look forward to creating new ones, as well. Enjoy the holiday season and here’s to a successful New Year!
