Hotel Dena, Pasadena Los Angeles, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel has made its debut. The 311-room hotel is owned by Monarch Alternative Capital and managed by HHM Hotels. The property is a part of HHM’s Independent Collection, a selection of lifestyle hotels that are connected to local communities.
“The new Hotel Dena celebrates the originality in each of us, offering a destination that encourages unique opportunities to interact with the performing arts,” says Naveen Kakarla, president/CEO, HHM Hotels. “We have proudly created a hotel where guests are able to both recharge and awaken their creative senses from its rich fusion of design, amenities, services and experiences.”
Dash Design was tapped to oversee the interior design and art curation for Hotel Dena. WRDSMITH, an LA-based street artist who utilizes colorful and mindfully chosen words to inspire others, created a lobby mural and signature guestroom art. Large-scale outdoor murals featuring music and dance were hand-painted by artists Ian Schuler and Leah Tumerman. Artist Kate Neckel developed Pasadena-inspired wall coverings for each corridor of the property, and wooden sound wave art in the lobby area by artist Erin Harris captures Van Halen’s hit song “Jump.”
The hotel offers king and queen rooms, studios and suites. Specialty suites include the Screenwriter’s Suite, Director’s Suite, and Dena Suite at 600 to 650 sq. ft. All accommodations feature Blind Barber bath amenities. Hotel Dena also offers Broadcast Kits that include ring lights from Lume Cube and microphones. Kits are complimentary to borrow based on availability.
Amenities include a restaurant open for breakfast and lunch, a bar and lounge, a self-service market, more than 29,000 sq. ft. of versatile event and meeting space, a retro-inspired screening area, an outdoor heated pool and a fitness center.
The hotel is located close to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Pasadena Convention Center and Old Town Pasadena, and is about 16 miles from the Hollywood Burbank Airport.
