UK: The Red Lion pub and hotel has reopened in Leytonstone, north-east London, following a £750,000 restoration.Owned by Urban Pubs and Bars, the venue includes a 10-bedroom boutique hotel and a grand ballroom.
The hotel, opened in 2019, offers a blend of restored original features and vintage décor. All the rooms feature smart TVs and keyless entry, while the suite offers a cosy reading corner and bunk beds for families.The pub itself originally opened in 1870 and has hosted some of the biggest bands of the 1970s, including Led Zeppelin, The Who, Genesis, Yes, and Roxy Music.It features two function rooms: the Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 350 guests for weddings, live performances, and private events, and a smaller space with a capacity of 70 guests.The beer garden has also been refurbished, now offering new covered booths and street-art-inspired murals.
Following six weeks of restoration, the Red Lion reopened to the public on Friday, 21st February.Chris Hill, managing director at Urban Pubs and Bars, said: “The Red Lion is one of east London’s most beloved pubs, with a history that few can match.
