Scandinavia: Choice Hotels EMEA has added four Fortress Hotels to the company’s Ascend Hotel Collection as part of an agreement between Nordic Choice Hotels and The Fortress Hotels.
The Fortress Hotels include Norway’s Oscarsborg Fortress, Kongsvinger Fortress, Reenskaug Hotel, and Sweden’s Torreby Castle. The announcement comes as Choice Hotels EMEA refreshes the Ascend Hotel Collection portfolio in EMEA.
The Oscarsborg Fortress in Norway is located near Oslo and offers 86 guest rooms, holiday homes, conference and function rooms, restaurants, galleries, a museum, and several hiking trails. The Kongsvinger Fortress is located at the top of Kongsvinger with views of the town and Glomma. Reenskaug Hotel is located in the Norwegian town of Drøbak near the Oslofjord and has been around for more than 100 years. In Sweden, Torreby Castle has seven suites with 26 beds and views of Gullmarsfjorden.

In Europe, the Ascend Hotel Collection now has more than 70 properties in the Nordic region, Spain, Ireland, Italy, and Turkey.
The Choice Hotels EMEA portfolio includes Clarion, Quality, Comfort, Sleep Inn, and the Ascend Hotel Collection.
