An American Airlines employee was killed in an accident on
Thursday when a ground service vehicle struck a jet bridge at a Texas airport.According to ABCNews.com,
Austin Police Department Corporal Destiny Silva revealed that an unnamed American
employee was involved in an accident at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport near
the terminal where aircraft park at their gates.
The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. local time, and
Austin-Travis County EMS was called to the scene, where the employee was
pronounced dead. The Austin Police Department’s vehicular homicide unit is
investigating the incident as an accidental death.The official Twitter account of the Austin airport released
a statement about the accident:This afternoon, AUS was notified that @ATCEMS responded to an injured airline employee who has since been pronounced deceased.There are no significant impacts to AUS airport operations at this time. pic.twitter.com/yCbUvzhgVa

While officials from Austin-Bergstrom International said
there were no significant impacts to airport operations, FlightAware.com is
